Our Wedding

Our story is a testament to God’s perfect timing!   We both grew up in Lafayette, just down the road from each other. We went to the same schools, Saint Thomas More and the University of Louisiana, and even ended up at some of the same parties in high school and college, yet we never actually crossed paths. Looking back, it’s so clear that God was saving our meeting for the right moment.   That moment began one evening when James and Hannah (Meredith’s older sister) happened to be at a dinner with friends. Meredith was at the same restaurant with her own group, and during conversation, her now brother-in-law, Taylor, joked that Meredith was single and could use a little matchmaking. James noticed Meredith across the room and thought she was beautiful, but the night went on as usual. Later, Hannah mentioned “this guy from STM named James Domingue” to Meredith. She had heard of him before but brushed it off, she was content where she was. Little did she know, God was weaving the story together behind the scenes!   A month later, their paths crossed again in the most ordinary yet unforgettable way. Meredith was out with one of her best friends, and James was out with his group at their favorite spot, Corner Bar. When they saw each other, both felt the nerves kick in. James eventually worked up the courage to walk over, and from the moment they started talking, it felt easy, like they had known each other for years. Not long after, James asked Meredith to breakfast after class, and from that day forward, their lives have been beautifully intertwined.   They aren’t sure if it was love at first sight, but it was something incredibly close.
